For Immediate Release
SAN DIEGO (July 20, 2000) - Life on the road for thousands of corporate
field personnel, or "Road Warriors," can be much easier, thanks to Mail Boxes
Etc.s (MBE( new Corporate Accounts "ValueCard." The MBE ValueCard
will enable corporate sales representatives and service technicians to purchase business
support services at any participating MBE center for 15 percent off the MBE retail price.
More importantly, these Road Warriors will no longer have to keep track of receipts or submit
ndividual expense reports, thanks to technology capabilities recently installed at most
MBE Centers across the country. With MBEs new high-speed, virtual private network,
Road Warriors can purchase services at different MBE Centers using the ValueCard; transactions
will be collected, downloaded to a centralized database and reported to the customer in one
monthly bill. The billing data can be sorted by region, department or sales personnel,
depending on the clients needs.
"The MBE Corporate Accounts ValueCard offers our corporate clients a simple, one-source
solution for their field personnel along with real-time reporting for more efficient
budget management," says John Kenney, director of corporate accounts at MBE.
Already signed on to the new Corporate Accounts ValueCard program are Hewlett-Packard
(HP) and another company formed by HP, Agilent Technologies, with 15,000 service
technicians combined; IKON, a leader in the office technology sector, with 8,000 field
technicians; and GE Capital - IT Solutions, with 1,200 field personnel.
